A PATHWAY LEADING TO HARRY, HEALING AND BEYOND
I grew up with spirit at my side.
I survived the bombing in London in the last war where I was buried alive when a bomb fell on the house next door and damaged ours as well. A passageway collapsed on me with a fractured gas pipe for company. I remember nothing during this time except being cared for by spirit. A man and several women with my mother dug with bare hands to rescue me, I felt spirit 'put me back'. I came through with two small scratches, dusty and a little difficulty breathing, still clutching Queen Mary's Silver Jubilee book I was holding when it all happened!
The night before, I was looking out of the bedroom window at the red of the fires as Waterloo Station was being bombed. I looked at the dark of the sky and the searchlights sweeping the sky, when the dark of the sky seemed to open up to reveal a large bright expanse of light that got bigger. From this came a massive shaft of light with a figure in it that slowly descended to just above the ground in our small backyard. The figure was wearing something akin to a suit of armour and the person which looked like a lady became clearer. She had a sword in her hand and she looked up at me and raised the sword up and then down to her side. She bowed her head and the shaft of light slowly started to go back up again carrying her back up with it while she still looked at me and disappeared. The sky began to close over to dark again. My parents said I must have been dreaming. But I wasn't in bed. I knew later that it meant that I would be safe the next day.
After this I fell down a manhole with no cover, on a bombed school building at the end of our road whilst I was going to a shop for a loaf of bread. I managed to climb on things to get me out but felt pain in my kneecap and saw it was cut badly from the rusty bedsteads and things I had fallen on. I held it together with one hand and hobbled home.
Years later when I was eleven, I was having problems with my knee. My family belonged to a local Spiritualist Church, which was having an evening of psychic surgery being carried out by two people from Shere. The Church President said to fetch me along. Dressed in my best Sunday clothes, I was the centre of attention as I lay on the couch and people gathered around. My knee was looked at and my Mother was told that I had a piece of metal embedded in my knee and that the problem would get worse but that the piece of metal could be removed. Everyone a few minutes later, heard the tinkling sound of metal being put in a bowl. There was no-one near the bowl. A few days later and I was walking normally.
My Father became a Healer at the Spiritualist church. I saw Harry Edwards at the Albert Hall in 1951 and realised how alike he and my Father were both in stature and administering healing with unbelievable results. From then on, I decided I was going to become a Healer like Harry and my Father and try and make people well as I had only up until then, been practising on our cat, dog, the chickens and anything else ailing I could get to sit or stand still! My Father said I wasn't old enough to take things seriously so I should wait a bit and get on with my schooling.
When I was fourteen, my parents said, (as they didn't feel they were really experienced enough to give me a good grounding), my Mother would phone Shere and ask what was the best way to go about contacting Harry as he would be the best person to ask for the way forward for me. I was told to write a letter to Harry. My mother said I was to write in my best handwriting to Mr Harry Edwards and see if he could give me any formal training and advice. My Mother checked the letter for spelling and blots of ink and the letter, after three attempts, was duly posted with a stamped addressed envelope for any reply, and I was to remember that he was a very busy person and may not be able to do anything or even be able to reply. To my delight Harry replied fairly quickly and said he would make up some questions for me for my age. I was to send the answers in to him, we would then go from there and to Shere later. Harry was kind enough to say he enjoyed getting my letters, as each time one was opened, my doorkeeper appeared and he spoke to him. When I went to Shere later, Harry was out once and I sat in his chair and promptly got removed by a kindly lady. I progressed with instruction.
Harry said that when I was older, I should think about taking up Nursing as it would give me a much better grounding and I would learn a lot as someone had told me that I also had the gift of Xray vision and the knowledge would help me. With one thing and another my young life moved on and I lost touch except for the Healing Minute. I did Healing at the local Church and went Nursing as well. I thought I would just go for a few months and learn a few things as Harry had said and ended up instead as a Matron following on with other posts until I opened my own School of Healing and Complementary Therapies. Teaching and other spiritual achievements followed.
Harry visited me recently. Once when I had a problem. The medium had finished his demonstration and the Chairperson was about to give the notices when the medium asked if he could just give a message to me. He said I don't know this person myself but he said he is Harry Edwards and he would like to just give some encouragement to me. He told me to go on and overcome and all would be well, he would help where possible. My problem came right very soon after. The next time Harry 'looked in' he said he was pleased that I was still moving forward with the Spiritual work and told me to keep going, as good work was being achieved and he was looking on with interest.
I just hope that in some small way, I, like many others, can continue to serve on the Spiritual Pathway, with spirit and Harry, our inspiration.
